Can You Marinate The Steak In Ranch Dressing?

Yes! You can use ranch dressing to marinate steak. Ranch dressing makes a fantastic component of a marinade as it is acidic and has great flavors too.

Ranch dressing is a type of salad dressing made from buttermilk, sour cream, and herbs. The most common herbs used in ranch dressing are parsley, chives, and dill. Other ingredients may include garlic, onion, mustard, vinegar, and salt.

Ranch dressing does have all the required properties to help prepare a good marinade.

For a marinade to be effective, it needs to have acidic components, and in ranch dressing, both buttermilk and sour cream can help play that role.

Both sour cream and buttermilk are independently used as part of marinades and are very popular. Thus, there is no way you cannot use both of them together in a marinade.

How To Marinate The Steak In Ranch Dressing?

Here is a step by step guide to marinating the steak in ranch dressing –

  1. In a bowl, whisk together all the components of the ranch dressing marinade. Do not use reactive cookware to mix the ingredients. Always use glass/plastic bowls or freezer bags.
